Life, dilemmas and choices

In life sometimes we take decisions to achieve something particular but with time we realize it isn’t close to anything we want. Would you still give it a shot or throw it away as priorities changed and dreams changed. Yes Life happened.  So when life gives you an out would you take it? Or would you stick to your old dreams?

Having achieved something you thought you never could as against something you always dreamt of being. What would you choose? Options they say are good, but are they? Standing at a major juncture, at a crossroad that is going to change your life. You have to take a decision.

Your life is yours. Let the choice be yours too and not anyone else’s. Speak up. Stand up. More than the regret of not having done something the pain of not listening to your heart/mind may turn out to be destructive.

So Believe in yourself. Trust yourself. Be brave to make decisions for yourself. Be ready to benefit from the fruits of it. Also be ready to accept the repercussions if any. Learn to take the twists and turns of life in your stride, even if they appear to be minor setbacks.

There are going to be many dilemmas ahead, many choices to make. Life may present itself in many ways. Make sure you are ready to face everything it has to offer. Good, bad or ugly. Stay confident, stay committed, and stay determined because that makes an unbeatable combination.

The sailor who sailed (part II)

Faced with obstacles anew
He would cross this one too
As he was the sailor who sailed through the storm
And here he was on another path

Was the pride in him too strong?
As he was praised for his splendid job
He carried his awards and the scars
To the journey that went afar

On this path of self discovery
Introspection of past was necessary
The scars and bruises of the past
Brought him down but kept him strong

The heavy burden of yesterday
He’d carried it for way too long
The anchor that weighed him down
Had to be pulled up now

He trembled upon an easy path
But that’s not what he was raised for
There was no discernible end
To his solitude and the voyage ahead

poetry

The Sailor Who Sailed

The winds thrashed left and right
Resisting them seemed futile
The wrath of the ocean outgrew
Knowing not where to go

In the dark night’s sheet
Even the salt water tasted sweet
The wounds just bled and dried
The pain swallowed inside

In the dingy dampness
With the strange inhabitants
In the endless coldness
And the pointless numbness

The storm tumultuous roared
But the desire to hit the shore arose
With the journey ventured to
He chose what he ought to

He fought he failed but he braved
And through the storm he sailed
He looked above and thanked the lord
For the ordeal that made him strong

The friendly winds now just passed
And he was set for another path
As he was the sailor who sailed through the storm
As he was the sailor who sailed through the storm
